Madrid City Bike Tours
 |
If the best girl or the rest of the group have told you in no uncertain terms to get on your bike, then this is the option. Take the Henorita's Madrid Cycling Tour around the diverse landscapes of scenic central Madrid. Partying hens will be glad of the exercise, the chance to get some sun, and feel reinvigorated and ready for more action!
Our Madrid City bike tours give you a great insight on the whole city. They combine the advantages of walking (you go at your own pace, you can explore) and a guided bus tour (on short visits, you get around it all faster). The expert guide will fill you in on the local historic facts you tend not to glean while sitting in a bar knocking them back! |
Madrid is a lady of deep and diverse charms, so don't be phased if we begin at a real Egyptian Temple! The Templo de Debod was brought to Madrid in the sixties, strangely enough, and perched on a spectacular balcony overlooking the west approach of the city, and the Palacio Real (Royal Palace).
Then we cycle down to the Casa de Campo estate, the scene of Hemingwayesque heroic struggles to keep Franco's troops out of Madrid during the Spanish Civil war.
Coming back in to the city you'll visit all of the major squares including the spectacular Plaza Mayor, the Retiro Park, the fountains of Cibeles and Neptune, and the vast Palacio Real (Royal Palace). The bike tour takes you to the historic old part of town, but for traffic reasons does not include the modern or business areas including or the Santiago Bernabeu. To include a trip to the Bernabeu, see the Sightsee Special. |

Henorita's Hint #1:
Bring your camera! You'll be using one of the best ways to get around the town quickly and still stop for photos. A sunhat or cap is a good idea almost all year.
Henorita's Hint #2:
Keep your wits about you! Although a quick beer on a stop is a great option, go easy. We don't take you on the scary 8-lane arteries of the city, but wobbling around on a bike in central Madrid is not recommended, as Madrid drivers take no prisoners!
Henorita's Hint #3:
We recommend getting up as early as possible to avoid traffic.
